Field Services Assistant

We are Cram Crew, a one-on-one, in-home tutoring firm. Tutoring firm? Yep, tutoring is what we do and we’re dang proud of it. We are looking for an exceptional Field Services Assistant to support our Field Services Team Lead and help in enabling our field team (tutors) to achieve their goals. This position ideally will be eligible for promotion into a management role at 90 days.

The Field Services Assistant will provide essential administrative support through collecting and auditing data specific to consultant performance. The candidate we hire for the Field Services Assistant position will initially work alongside our interim Houston Field Services Team Lead to sufficiently learn the administrative side of this role. Upon 90 days within the Field Services Assistant role, this position/employee will be assessed and considered for the promotion and transition into the Houston Field Services Team Lead role. Part of this training may take place in our Austin, Texas office.

This position will be based in our Houston location.

What you will be responsible for:

Administrative Support

  • Collect and analyze data to measure each consultant’s performance; work with the Field Services Team Lead to establish individual goals for consultants and ensure consistent communication
  • Assist in assigning suitable student-consultant pairings for new clients and/or services
  • Setting clear expectations and goals for each employee and monitoring progress and results through management and completion of various tracking spreadsheets on a weekly basis
  • Running various reports on our web based portal, such as tracking unbilled sessions, and sharing critical findings with the Field Services Team Lead
  • Attend a week-long consultant Test Preparation training during the onboarding process to better understand the expectations and processes set for consultants
  • Previous experience with data analysis not required*

Work alongside the Field Services Team Lead through providing behind the scenes administrative support to:

  • Manage our field team of consultants (tutors) who typically work remotely for sessions in clients’ homes
  • Foster a positive relationship between consultants and office staff while promoting a shared goal of creating and maintaining an outstanding client experience
  • Set clear expectations and goals for each employee and monitoring progress and results through management and completion of various tracking spreadsheets on a weekly basis
  • Lead field team members with integrity while upholding ethical standards
  • Provide mentorship and support to all employees and working with other team leaders to cultivate an environment in which employees will thrive and perform to the best of their abilities
  • Hold field team members accountable for the delivery of exceptional customer service, outstanding performance, and integrity in all company operations

What you should offer:

  • Minimum of two years of proven leadership or management experience (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in addition to a strong attention to detail
  • Confidence and experience in resolving conflicts in a timely, professional, and effective manner
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Patience and diligence to learn and execute behind the scenes administrative work that is necessary to supporting the role of Field Services Team Lead
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Available to work 40 hours per week during normal business hours and flexibility to work occasional evening or weekend hours
  • Able to commit to position with Cram Crew for a minimum of two years
