Absolutely! While the program is primarily designed to be a recap and overview of all sections of the ACT to edge out one extra point on the exam, The Extra Point can also help students jump-start their Test Preparation throughout the rest of the summer into the fall semester. Please let us know if this will be your student’s first time with Test Preparation, and that will help us better address your student’s needs during the program.
While we think our Test Preparation service would be ideal before The Extra Point, it is not necessary. We will help your student prepare and execute a game plan for whatever your student’s preparation past or future will be—with us or solo!
Yes! We need each student to take a preliminary Mock Exam the month before the event to create the individualized score report and assessment, and to identify the student’s strengths and weaknesses. We will also send out a form for you to fill out that will provide us with more detailed student information.
The usual: pencils, erasers, calculator, and a notebook (though material will be provided, we know there are avid note-takers out there!). Snacks and a drink are welcome!
This will depend on your specific location and dates. You will get a detailed schedule a few weeks before the program, but the general schedule is as follows:
Sunday: 1-4 p.m. (with an extra hour discussion for any students testing with accommodations)
Monday-Wednesday: 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Thursday: 7:45 a.m. or 9:45 a.m.-5 p.m. (Students will take a Mock Exam in the morning and review)
Friday: times will vary from student-to-student as they set up individual sessions
Students must remain on campus during lunch breaks Monday through Wednesday. Students may leave for lunch on Thursday with parent or guardian permission (please notify us at least the day before) but must return for the afternoon classes.
Absolutely! We will have catered lunches available Monday through Thursday, but if your student has any dietary restrictions or will be bringing their own lunch, please let us know!
